80 and Active!

My friend Evelyn O. turned 80 this year!  Her family surprised her with a big party and a visit from extended relatives who had not seen her in years.  Evelyn surprised them by how young she looks, how flexibly she moves, and how energetic she is!  The family wanted to take her out to dinner a short time after her party.  She said firmly, "No.  I will cook and have you all around my table."

One person was amazed and commented, "I just can't believe how you move around and get dinner ready for 16 people and visit with everybody."

People often ask Evelyn who her housekeeper is. 

She answers, "You're looking at her."

"Well, then who is your gardener.  I want to hire him."  

She says, "That would be me!"

When Evelyn's husband was 52, he succumbed to cancer.  Evelyn promised herself--"It is my job to keep myself healthy, take my nutritionals, exercise and have a positive attitude."
